The schools of the future will not only teach how to think but how to be, in a world where information is infinite but wisdom is rare ~ Fons Burger
Before designing the future of business education, let’s look at how the current landscape came to be.
The foundations of modern management were built between the mid-1800s and mid-1900s - a time when Western nations industrialized at breakneck speed. As a result, early management theories naturally focused on what was happening locally, while quietly overlooking the vibrant trade networks, alternative business systems, and rich economic traditions that had thrived across Asia, Africa, and South America for over 3,000 years.
Over time, three main levers emerged that kept this status quo in place:
• Accreditation: Frameworks created by legacy institutions that define what "counts" as standard business education, often leaving little room for fresh, community-rooted models.
• Tuition Fees: Eye-watering price tags from $80,000 to $180,000 that turn executive learning into an exclusive membership club rather than an engine for global impact.
• Choice of Case Studies: A curated collection where ~80% of stories center on the US, Europe, and ANZ, and ~85% feature protagonists from a single cultural background - leaving out the brilliant solutions happening across the rest of the planet.
A curriculum shaped by roughly 10% of the global population served its time, but it simply isn't big enough for the world of tomorrow.
That is why we are building Roxbourg Business School as a future-focused think tank designed to reimagine these three levers:
• Accreditation: How can we build an agile evaluation system focused on real-world impact, sustainability, and peer-certified wisdom?
• Tuition Fee: How do we dismantle artificial financial barriers to make world-class executive learning accessible to extraordinary minds everywhere?
• Case Study Scope: How do we build a global curriculum that celebrates multi-cultural economic history, diverse values, and regenerative business models?
Next steps:
Today, we are starting a public dialogue and opening admissions for our founding cohort.
Seminars for the Roxbourg initiative will launch on April 8th, 2027, in the Lausanne Region, Vaud, Switzerland.
During our initial discussions and interviews, we will evaluate tuition models, discuss accreditation frameworks, and co-create the forward-looking case studies we will cover.
